Google Optimization - So You Want To Get To The Top?

By Noel Swanson

How do you do it?

Here we will help you develop a sensible strategy for promoting your website by weeding out all of the nonsense, myths and hype.

First things first, how does a website achieve top rankings?

Through use of top secret algorithms, Search Engines rank sites based on relevancy, accuracy and up-kept status of information. This counters SEO experts whose sole purpose is to get clients at the top of the rankings.

Top rankings can be achieved by two "strategies":

"Black Hat Optimization" and "White Hat Optimization"

White Hat optimization is designed to deliver accurate, timely, relevant and quality information - essentially working WITH the Search Engines.

Black Hat refers to strategies that try to get around that by various ways of cheating. Black Hat techniques can work, but usually only for a short period of time until all the PhD's at Google figure out what you are doing and find a way to plug that loophole - and ban you while they are at it.

Though nobody can verify what works best as far as ranking factors. Given the goal of Search Engines, there are a handful of strategies that have survived the test of time, make logical sense, and have been physically proven:

1. High quality content relevant to your theme. The more content present on a site, the better it will be recognized. Search engines use AI programs known as "latent semantic indexing" programs to decipher what websites are about, as opposed to just what keywords are within the content. Keywords still play a vital role but now other content that relates to your theme is also relevant as it is now taken into account by the artificial intelligence.

2. Links pointing to your site. Links coming from Authority sites are generally worth the most, as they are trusted sources of content. Links from so-called "bad neighborhoods" count for very little. Theme sites related to yours are worth more than non-related sites, ie political sites won't help you nearly as much as a pet site if you are likewise, a pet site. Search Engines don't penalize you for bad links coming into your site, but they certainly don't reward you for links from Free-For-All pages (FFA), link farms or other sites dubbed "bad." Google Page Rank is a good rough indication of how valuable a site is, the higher the better. PR is probably going to become theme specific, meaning that you may have a low PR for one theme but have a high PR for another theme.

3. Sites that have been around a long time - If all factors are equal, Google Page Rank will rise with time. This makes older sites more worthwhile due to this reason.

4. New sites - New sites generally get initial priority as they may have some recent, hot news, which is after all what Search Engine's are looking to deliver. Links pointing to new sites are also worthwhile as they may indicate recent news on the site being linked to.

5. Links OUT to authority sites are also worth points. But don't have too many. While you are not penalized for any bad links coming in, you can be penalized if you link out to bad neighborhoods.

6. Keywords - Set your goal to get ranked for specific keywords before all else. Tag the name of your area or town to the end of the keyword if you are a local business. Keywords vary in competition. Some much more than others.

7. Original Content. Don't just use the same article everyone else is using. Search Engines are quick to filter out content that they find multiple times. One needs unique content, both on sites linking in, as well as your own. Search Engine's don't want the public to find the same information in multiple places.

success using article marketing

By vidah

The greatest benefit of article marketing is that is an absolutely free method anyone can use to get free traffic to their site. The number of locations articles can be placed is enormous with each one containing a link back to a site of your choice.

Top sites are also viewed by search engines as authority sites so it is to your benefit in many ways to have your content accepted; by improving your standing, you will by default, also improve the level of trust people have for you.

Article marketing carried out regularly can bring fantastic rewards as people begin to see you as an expert in your field. The purpose is to convince people of your abilities in the particular fields you write in. Although it can take a while, this traffic from people that trust you will help your own search engine ranking; by default this will increase the number of 'organic' visitors you receive that have searched for something your site has information on. The more websites that link to yours, the more traffic you will achieve; more importantly, none of this traffic actually costs anything at all!

One of the major benefits of article marketing is the links that can be contained within not just the text body but also the 'bio' box at the bottom of the page. When your articles are good, they get spread around the internet and of course each version will have links back to your own so the more links you have, the more your ranking will grow.

Just how quickly you will be visited by a search engine and listed can vary enormously from a day to months! However if you are submitting articles that are relevant to your website, the process of listing your site is usually much quicker which increases traffic.

Article marketing helps to improving the ranking of a site but in addition to this it also helps increase the amount of content at the same time which again improves rank. For the most part, people who are directed to your website are not expecting to buy or be sold anything. There is no reason why you cannot be truthful about what you are doing once they reach your website provided you have useful information.

It is at this point that the sales promotion can be used. This procedure is almost like a safety net because you are explaining the process to them so they will not misunderstand. The last thing you want after making the sale is to return the money so by doing carrying out this process you lessen your chance of it happening.

It is this type of article marketing ensures visitors are always coming to your site; this does require you to understand that all of this cannot be achieved with just one article. Remember, if you have an interesting site you will also receive links from other website owners who may also use your article as well; don't forget, your article will contain information that people are searching for. There are no charges to article marketing and is still the number one way to get traffic to your site; all you need is to keep supplying them with the information they are looking for in the form of articles.

How to Help Your Business Stand out on the Internet

By Jason Pearson

Knowing which market you plan to sell to is an essential part of a successful internet business. Part of knowing your market is familiarizing yourself with any and all competition. This way you can shape your business and marketing plan to target a narrow category of people that are most likely to buy your product or service.

You have to start by knowing your competitors around the globe intimately. You must also make sure that when people are seeking to spend money in your market you are a prominent contender for their business. These qualified leads are people who are already interested in purchasing something like your product when they come to your website.

This kind of prospect is also known as a qualified lead. They are the consumers who are most likely to spend their money upon arriving at your website. The key to making this work is to make sure your company is listed above most or all of your competition with search engines.

Do this with keywords strategically placed and repeated throughout articles. You can hire people to do this for you or do it yourself. The key is to generate new content on a regular basis, prompting search engine crawlers to recognize it and in turn boost your placement within search engine results.

After you have a well-researched product and are consistently high in the search engine listings, you should make sure your website is appealing to consumers. If they are turned off by a cheap display or cannot find what they need, all your efforts have been wasted. Consumers will quickly move onto one of thousands of other options if they can't find what they need immediately.

Look at server statistics to know where your traffic is coming from. You may even want to hire professionals to do this for you or to conduct further market research if necessary. This data and a proper analysis of it will help you determine which of your marketing strategies are successful and which ones are not.

With this kind of information, you can tailor your marketing plans in the future to fill in gaps that currently exist and do away with ineffective strategies as well. You should always be willing to change your website to match current market developments. Doing so also proves to your clientele and prospects that you are on top of your game.

Being visible and profitable on the internet takes close monitoring of several factors. Your competition, your website design and functionality, and how you generate leads are all important aspects of your overall marketing plan. In addition to these core concepts, you should also strive to ensure that each client has positive things to tell their friends about their purchase on your website.

Writing Articles and Publish Them Online:

This technique is by far one of the least expensive (free most of the time) and very effective which I'll share in just a moment. The amount of traffic you can get from submitting a simple article is astounding, but it must be unique.

Article marketing is by far the single most effective way to drive massive targeted traffic to your website with nearly zero cost. Just get the articles written, put 1 to 3 links at the end of the article and submit it to article directories or blogs. Bravo! your website will be flushed with all the necessary back links from websites with PR5 and above.

An article that deliver values to readers will gain higher rating from publisher. Webmasters will only choose recommended articles for their visiotrs and readers. Highly relevant content to your website will help increase visitors' stickiness to your website and that equals to money.

Now, having to write an article may sometime painful to certain people. Don't worry; there are many out there willing to help with a fraction of cost.

You must rewrite them as most will not past copyscape and probably be totally wipe out from internet of it resemble the content of another website 3) Rewrite articles with master resell rights 4) Chose a topic and write it yourself. Adsense is very atractive way to make money online and ever step of the designing of your adsense ad is about choices. By testing you will learn what works best on your sites and the first thing you will want to try out is choosing the ad format for text and image based ads. The right format depends on where you want to put the ad on your site

The Leaderboard ad format is quite popular. It is 728 X 90 in size and sits atop your webpage. As many as four ads fit nicely inside the leaderboard and the ads are arranged from left to right. This can be an attractive layout and will fit with almost any website format.

The Banner format is 468 X 60 in size and can be placed almost anywhere on the page. This format holds two ads nicely and can be used along the side or at the top of content attractively enough. The Half Banner is only 234 X 60 and allows you to place one ad anywhere you desire on your webpage. The Vertical Banner stacks the ads on top of each other and is 120 X 240 in size.

If you want to show a single ad in a very atractive way than take a look at the square 125 x 125 layout. You can mix the ad colors with an eye-catching background to make it stand out and you will surely draw a lot of attention to this ad

If you need ads to be shown on one or either side of your content a skyscraper holding 3 or 4 ads can be the solution. The skyscraper was specificaly designed for this purpose and its format is 120 x 600 pixels. If you would like to have more space for ads choose the 160 x 600 wide sky scraper because this one can hold 5 ads

Several rectangle formats are used for in content display. The first one of them is the 180 x 150 pixels small rectangle holding one ad. The medium formt holds 3 or 4 ads in a 300 x 250 pixels layout and the large rectangle ad unit is measuring 336 x 280 pixels for up to 4 ads. Google Adwords Keyword Tool - Use It To Prosper

By John Fitzgerald

If you want to run profitable and successful ad campaigns, then you will need to learn how to use Googles Adwords keyword tool. This flexible tool will assist you in selecting the right keyword and getting the best possible click pricing for your selected keyword or phrase. Proper keyword selection is the key to your success.

How Does Googles Adwords Tool System Work?

You need to take care when selecting your keywords or phrases, because proper keyword selection will most surely decide the success or failure of your campaigns. In an ideal world, the targeted customer you sent to your site will click your ad, discover your product or service that will fulfill their needs and either make a purchase or generate a lead. But, if a surfer clicks your ad, browses your site then leaves without purchasing or generating a lead, then you lose. Not only did you lose a sale, but you will still hace to pay for the click.

You must have good conversation rate and highly targeted customers to your site, and buying customers that convert to sales or a lead. Now, the Google Adwords keyword tool can certainly help you achieve this. You will need to show patience while choosing your selected keyword keyword phrase for your ad campaigns. Be sure and try to keep your website at the back of your mind during this keyword task. Keywords that appear right, but are not exactly related to your website will do nothing for you, what you need are highly targeted customers, so keep away from keywords that are not directly related. Your chosen keywords should help you to advertise through the Adwords tool campaign. It certainly would be ideal if these keywords have a wider application than advertising.

Let's look at this example, if a person provides ''cheap web hosting" on his or her online website and uses "web site hosting" as one of the keywords, this would not be a good choice as an Adword keyword. Customers that are looking for ''web hosting" might confuse your site as one offering more "traditional web hosting", instead of the more targeted keyword phrase "cheap web hosting". They would click on the site and leave without bringing you any business, or a lead. But you would have to still pay for that click. So it is important that you use the Google Adwords keyword tool and focus on those keywords that are directly related to what you offer. In the above example, you must include the word ''cheap web hosting" into each keyphrase as well. By doing this, hungry laser targeted customers looking for cheap web hosting will be automatically get driven to your site, and you have a much better chance of getting the sale or lead.

Google Adwords keyword tool really is a user-friendly tool that will allow you to add new keywords but also take out keywords at any time you want to from your Ad campaign. Google Adsense Profits Mixed In With Affiliate Marketing

By Kim and Petty Charles

Are you a webmaster who needs funds to keep your website running? Or is your website the only way for you to earn income? Whichever you are, for as long as you are a webmaster or a web publisher and you need cash, affiliate marketing may work well for you. With affiliate marketing, you may get a lot of cash pouring into your bank account easily. And if your website is rich in great contents and you want to earn more profit, why not get into the Google Adsense program as well?

Why Affiliate Marketing?

Well, simply because affiliate marketing is the easiest and probably the best way to earn profits online, unless otherwise you are a businessman and would rather sell your own products online than advertise other businessman's products on your site. But even online retailers can benefit from affiliate marketing programs, because affiliate marketing actually works for merchants as well as it works for the affiliates.

Affiliate marketing, simply said, is a relationship or agreement made between two websites, with one site being the merchant's website and the other being the affiliate's site. In the relationship, the affiliate agrees to let the merchant advertise his products on the affiliate's site. The merchant, on the other hand, would agree to pay the affiliate in whatever method they have agreed into. This would generally mean easy income for the affiliate, as he would do nothing but place the retailer's ad on his site. This would also be very beneficial for the merchant, as getting affiliates to advertise their products would be a lot more affordable than hiring an advertising firm to promote their products.

There are a variety of methods on how the merchant would compensate the affiliate for his services, and for the webmaster, these methods simply translates to the method by which he would earn easy cash. Among the more common methods of compensation are the pay-per-click method, the pay-per-lead method, and the pay-per-sale method. The pay-per-click method is the method most preferred by affiliates, for their site's visitor would only have to visit the advertiser's site for them to gain money. The other two methods, on the other hand, are better preferred by merchants, as they would only have to compensate you if your visitor becomes one of their registrants or if the visitor would actually buy their products.

Getting much profit on affiliate marketing programs, however, does not depend so much on the compensation method is it does on the traffic generated by your site. A website that can attract more visitors would generally have the greater chance of profiting in affiliate marketing programs.

What about Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is actually some sort of an affiliate marketing program. In Google Adsense, Google act as the intermediary between the affiliates and the merchants. The merchant, or the advertiser, would simply sign up with Google and provide the latter with text ads pertaining to their products. These ads, which is actually a link to the advertiser's website, would then appear on Google searches as well as on the websites owned by the affiliates, or by those webmasters who have signed up with the Google Adsense program.

While one can find a lot of similarities between Google Adsense and other affiliate marketing programs, you can also see a lot of differences. In Google Adsense, all the webmaster has to do is place a code on his website and Google takes care of the rest. The ads that Google would place on your site would generally be relevant to the content of your site. This would be advantageous both for you and for the advertiser, as the visitors of your site would more or less be actually interested with the products being advertised.

The Google Adsense program compensates the affiliate in a pay-per-click basis. The advertisers would pay Google a certain amount each time their ad on your site is clicked and Google would then forward this amount to you through checks, although only after Google have deducted their share of the amount. Google Adsense checks are usually delivered monthly. Also, the Google Adsense program provides webmasters with a tracking tool that allows you to monitor the earnings you actually get from a certain ad.

So, where do all of these lead us to?

Where else but to profits, profits and even more profits! Affiliate marketing programs and the Google Adsense program simply work, whether you are the merchant or the affiliate. For the merchant's side, a lot of money can be saved if advertising effort is concentrated on affiliate marketing rather than on dealing with advertising firms. For the webmaster, you can easily gain a lot of profits just by doing what you do best, and that is by creating websites. And if you combine all your profits from both the Google Adsense program and other affiliate marketing programs, it would surely convert to a large amount of cash.

By Paul Jesse

Did you know that you can work at home and make money online without ever selling anything? There are very few home based business opportunities that are easier or cost less than affiliate marketing.

There are businesses and people earning thousands of dollars each year doing affiliate marketing. The business plan is simple. Your clients are already established online businesses selling a wide array of products and services. You get paid for bringing customers to your client which is the website you are an affiliate for. You then get paid either a set fee or a percentage of what the customer buys. Some affiliate programs also pay for every time someone clicks through.

Affiliate marketing opportunities are numerous and growing daily. It works this way. A link advertisement or banner is placed on the afiliate website and when the customer clicks through to the merchant site and makes a purchase a commission is earned.

Finding affiliate programs is not that hard. It has become so profitable and popular in the internet marketing business that almost everyone seems to be doing it. This does not mean you should settle for just any affiliate program.

It is very important to select a affiliate program that is at least somewhat relevant to your website or business. This way you will have the best possible chance of your customers clicking through to the affiliate website. For example, if you promote cameras or photography equipment you might join an affiliate program with a company that sells photography books or magazines

Carefully read the affiliate contract thoroughly. There are quite a few outstanding affiliate programs out there it seems there is always some programs trying to rip you off while making a quick buck. You may be able to avoid these scams if you review affiliate agreements carefully and go with your instinct about whether a website or program is not a scam.

The great thing about an affiliate marketing home business is that you are not limited to doing only one affiliate program. You can sign on with as many programs as you want as long as you have room on your website to place their banner or link.

Here are some tips for finding a good affiliate program.

1. Is the product appealing to your customers?

2. How much does the merchant pay and for what do they pay? Click throughs? Purchases?

3. Do they pay only for the first purchase or do they give you a percentage of all future purchases by that customer?

4. How frequently are commissions paid? This information should be in the affiliate agreement.

With some effective researching you can find the right affiliate programs for your home based business website and in no time you will be making income merely by referring buyers from your website.

Website Maintenace - Update Your Website Often

Often when people create a new website they don't consider how often they will need website updates. Maintaining your website should be one of the things you consider even as you planning to launch the first revision of your website. You will want to consider this early on so that you can establish a budget for your website maintenance.

Why should you update your website often? If you want new and repeat visitors to your website, you have to add new content. Most of us want to expand our business reach, and frequent updates give previous visitors a reason to come back and new visitors a reason to visit your site for the first time. Both of which could mean more sales for your business.

Another way to keep your website current is by adding a newsletter or article site to your existing website. This is a great way to update your website without changing the core message on your primary website pages. It does work. The popularity of blogs, forums and social networks is phenomenal. Do a search on almost any subject and you'll see results from these types of sites come up high in the search results. People want fresh content that is interesting and relevant. If you want to have your own blog or article site, Contact TheWebsiteDesignStore.Com. We can help you setup a blog or article site that's very easy for you to maintain yourself, or we can do it for you.

If your site is static (doesn't change very often) and you don't want the hassles of maintaining a blog or forum, there are still many options available for updating your website. You can have your website designer add a CMS or Content Management System to your website. Most often the web designer will need to know you want to do this early on, as it can affect the way the website is built. Adding a CMS to an existing website can be costly and time consuming and in some instances very difficult to do, but it is possible. If you have an existing site, maintaining the website using a CMS system may not be the best option for you.

Other website maintenance options available to you, include using the website design company that originally created your website. For some this is not an option because the original designer may be undesirable, unavailable or too expensive.

Making website updates don't have to be difficult. If you can't or don't want to make the changes yourself, then choosing a professional website maintenance service may be your best option. CMS systems are sometimes expensive, and not always user friendly. Although a good option for some, you may not have the time, energy or expertise to update your own website. A Professional website maintenance company like The Website Design Store.Com can help you make changes to your website for as little as $25 for small changes like address updates, or small content changes. We can add new pages, images or even re-design the page layout for you if you like. Many website maintenance services are available based on a flat rate fee if you request a quote.

Most people find it difficult to choose a a web designer for maintaining their website. Often they are overwhelmed with the information found online so they choose to do nothing. Don't make that mistake, here are a few quick guidelines for choosing someone to help you with website maintenance.

1. Check the quality of their work. Can they provide you with references and examples of their work? Testimonials and portfolios can be indicators of quality. Cheap isn't always best.

2. Are they willing to provide you with an estimate of time for the work want? Even when billed at an hourly rate, there should be an estimate. Ask if there is a minimum number of hours required.

3. Make sure you understand the timelines involved. Single designers or Companies with super low rates, sound great until they've taken your payment and you find they have a significant project backlog. Inquire about discounts for subscription based service if you need frequent updates.

4. Location doesn't matter when choosing a web design partner. Quality, reliability and communication are important. Make sure you can reach someone with questions or concern. If you visit a site with no live chat, no phone number. Think carefully before using this type of vendor. What started out seeming like a bargin could turn into a nightmare.

Consider using TheWebsiteDesignStore.Com for your website maintenance and updates. We offer flat rate and hourly services depending on what you need. Chat with an agent online or contact us for more information. Maintaining existing websites is one of our specialties.

Keep in mind that most website maintenance companies will want to work on an hourly basis. They won't do flat rate website updates because often there can be unknown complications due to the different ways that people create websites. Depending on the complexity of your website and the changes you require, you might get a better deal by scrapping your existing website and starting over from scratch.

Online Advertising Hidden Secrets - What You Don't Know Could Save You Money

I feel this particular blog is important to share, because I know that so many people struggle with how to advertise their businesses online. As you search for Online Advertising methods, you typically only see specific types of advertising options. Those who are successful with their online advertising typically only repeat what you already find online. I find that particularly frustrating when you consider many of those advertising methods either take a long time or are saturated with many other people trying to do the same thing.

Some of the common things you hear are - Use Free/Low Cost Natural Techniques which include: Optimize your website with good content, use solid Search Engine Optimization (SEO) techniques, build good backlinks, optimize your web page with meta tags, etc. Although I believe all should do these things, time is the most significant factor for many. Often people start their web adventures with a need to see a return on their investment quickly. Natural SEO often takes an extended amount of time. And Honestly everyone doesn't have 6 months to a year to wait for their website to become popular.

I believe you must approach your advertising from more than one direction. Never put all your eggs in one basket. What if your website is ranked number one and suddenly gets banned or dropped to the last place? Don't think it can happen? Do a search and see the cries of those who have experienced this first hand.

Social network marketing is fast becoming a highly desired method of advertising. This means advertising in places like Forums, Blogs, MySpace and Facebook. There are more and more online ad networks that feature advertising in these spaces. I have also seen several articles about how social networkers are starting to become immune to the advertising barrage.

Google Adwords, Yahoo Search Marketing, Adbrite, and other Pay Per Click networks also are comon places for advertisers to flock in search of success. This is a good option for many who want to obtain results fairly quickly, but the trial and error process can be expensive. There are many consultants available that will help with PPC campaigns. I consider these ads much like TV commercials. You pay to advertise to thousands of viewers at a time with only a small % actually purchasing your product.

Before moving on, there are several Definitions I'd like to give you so that you really understand what you get when you use Pay Per Click services.

PPC - Pay Per Click (also known as Cost Per Click) - You pay a price for each person who clicks on your advertisement. Google Adwords is one of the most popular PPC programs today. PPC means that your ad can be exposed to thousands of people, but you only pay for people who click thru to your website. This does not guarantee any sale. You must also be careful of click-fraud.

Click Fraud - This is where competitors or Publishers (the websites where the ads are displayed) click on your ads repeatedly to either run up your costs and make you stop the ads, or in the case of the Publisher make himself more money at your expense. Google and the other ad networks do what they can to fight click fraud, but it still exists.

CPM - Cost Per Thousand - This simply means that you pay some price for every 1000 people that see you ad. It doesn't matter how many people actually click your ad. It only matters how many people are exposed to your ad. So if you advertise on a website with 4000 viewers per day, and you pay $1 per Thousand, you would be $4 for 4000 exposures to your ad. Exposure doesn't mean they actually pay any attention to your ad. It just means your ad was on the page when they visited.

CPV - Cost Per Visit - This is the price for delivery of a targeted visitor to your website. There are networks that features full page CPV ads. If you're interested, do a search and you should find several that offer CPV ads.

CPC - Cost Per Conversion - The actual cost of acquiring a customer. Its the cost of your ad campaign divided by the number of conversion to your website. This number can be surprising and can add up quickly when you consider how many people click or are exposed to your ad before someone buys.

CPA - Cost Per Action - I consider this to be a hidden gem. No one really talks about it, but you can find it if you know its out there. This form of online advertising is unique in that the ad network and the publishers take the risk and expense of advertising your website. You only pay for conversions.

Think of the benefits to you as an advertiser. You only pay when the visitor to your website takes the action you specify. That action could be an actual sale, completion of a sign up form, or other action that you want visitors to take on your site. What's extraordinary is that often with this advertising, the ad network will design your ad at no upfront cost to you. You pay when they make a sale for you. Often you will find you don't pay anything up front at all. In return, when you do make a sale, you cost is typically much higher than the cost you pay per click. But in the end, that cost may actually be lower than paying up front for thousands of ad impressions and clicks that produce no sale.

In CPA advertising, because the ad company/network assumes the risk they are very motivated to see you obtain the results you want. Many CPA networks are based on affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing is where other website owners promote your website or service in exchange for a referral fee. In this case however, rather than going out and advertising for affiliates yourself, the ad networks already have website owners who are willing and able to participate. Saving you time and energy.

CPA advertising is a rarely discussed but valuable secret of Online Advertising. Why haven't you really heard it before? Possibly because of the additional risk of expense to the ad network/agency, most don't want to assume the risk.

Whatever advertising methodology you choose be sure to also include natural search engine optimization as part of your strategy. Diversity is the key to long term success in any business. Never put your eggs all in one basket. But if you are looking for the best way to get your website sales up in the shortest amount possible, online advertising, and in particular CPA advertising might be just what you are looking for.

Happy Advertising,

Blog Versus Website - What's the difference?

Recently I saw this question posted, and I answered it. But I thought it might be good to post the answer here as well.

The original question was: What is a Blog, What is a Website and how do you use them both.

The best way to describe a blog is a online journal, but a blog is still a type of website. You can discuss any subject you want in a blog. Some people use blogs to express their opinions on subjects, some use blogs to discuss trends or technology. Some use blogs to promote their business by providing tutorials and helpful information. Most blogs are often expression of some thought no matter if its emotional, personal, professional or just plain fun.

You can also monetize (make money with) a blog by adding google adwords, yahoo sponsored search other advertising sponsorships throughout your blog. If you are interested in the opinions of others, you can allow others to post comments on your blog which you can review before allowing them to be added to your site. You can also add what's called an RSS feed to your blog. An RSS feed is like news distribution. The content is made available in a specific format so people may essentially export your blog info in a format that can be used on other websites (giving your blog broader reach). Blogger.com makes this type of feed available automaticaly. People can then subscribe to your blog and get updates as soon as you post new information.

There are different types of blog software, wordpress being a very popular choice. You can also go to blogger.com and setup a free blog very easily and be online in just minutes without a lot of technical knowledge. Some people actually use a blog template on their blog to make it a more functional website. They do this by creating a menu on their blog and adding other useful information. Typically posts from users are not allowed on this other pages.

A website ont he other hand is typically created in the business world to provide information, sell a product or service, share marketing material, use as an online store, or to allow the use of a web based application like subscription based membership logins. People use personal websites for online photo albumns, family history and communication, or for just plain old fun like gamer websites.

Monetizing a website is also possible using ad sponsorships as well. Choosing between a blog and a website really comes down to what you want to accomplish online. We always suggest thinking about what you really want to accomplish, and then outline what you need to make that happen.

Begin with the end in mind. If you want to start off simple and easy, try blogger.com. There are also many website builders available that you can experiment with at very low cost until you get a really good understanding of what you want.

The Website Design Store offers small business class website builders at an offerdable rate if you are interested: https://thewebsitedesignstore.com/Websit...

Why A Website Is More Than Just A Website To A Small Business Owner

Many times when speaking with small business owners, the first thing they say to me when they find we are a website design company, often without any solicitation on my part, is "I already have a website" or "I will start a website when I get my business off the ground, or when my sales improve". I belive many of these business owners do themselves an injustice when they give this response without any real thought to what they are saying.

Does this sound like you? "I already have a website." My response is, Are You Getting The Results You want from your website? The answer is most often a resounding No!

What you may have failed to realize is that when you start a website, it should be started with a goal. Is your website your online business card? Do you want to increase sales? Maybe you want to share marketing material online to increase leads. Maybe you need a secure way to share and collaborate with your clients. And although these are often your goals, you may not have created your website with the end result in mind.

When you started your website, you may have started it for a completely different reason; or maybe you started it with no other reason than you figure you needed one. After all, just about everybody has a website these days. What you got as a result is a website that has disappointed you. So you meet someone like me and you blurt out "I already have a website." Websites are effective tools when implemented and used properly.

When you take a step back and look at your business needs, you find the true purpose behind what your website goals should be. If your goal is to create leads for your business, or to increase sales, creating a simple website that says I sell widgets, and I am located in this city USA, doesn't meet that goal. You need to re-design your website with your business goals in mind. Your website is an extension of your business. It shouldn't be an afterthought. Integrate your website into your overall business sales & marketing strategy, and you will find, that you have a website that is more effective and meeting your needs.

The thing I admire about the "I already have a website" crowd is that they at least knew they needed something and they took a step to do something about it. The other group I'd like to address in this blog are the "I'll create a website when I get my business off the ground and increase my sales" group. We all know that starting a business is tough. Money is often tight, and you need to be conservative with every dollar you spend. However, I submit that if you do not allocate some money in your budget for a website, that you are making a mistake. A good basic website doesn't have to be expensive. I submit that it costs you more by not having a website. A website is your business face to the world 24 hours a day. It works when you don't or can't.

With a little planning, your website will be one of the tools that you use to actually increase your sales. A website is not a simple expense. It is an asset to your business when when used properly. If you sell a product, you can add a shopping cart on your website. You open your business to entire new markets that you can't reach locally. You can even use your website to locally target the customer base you desire, and its a lot less expense and more effective than yellow page advertising, and your website can grow and adjust along with your business.

So you say this is fine and good, but realistically your budget can't handle expensive web design services. That is the beauty of technology today. If you invest a little time in planning your website properly, you can build a simple, effective website affordably and you don't need a technical degree to do it. At TheWebsiteDesignStore.Com you will find website builder wizards that you can use to build your website and be online in as little as 5 or 10 minutes, and with the cost as low as $20 per month, the expense is low enough to fit into almost any budget.

I think improving your business is worth the investment, don't you? Take the time to make the change.

After all, "You can't get different results, by doing the same old thing."
